Hot Wheels Vehicles from the Movies / TV Series

When we think of the Back to the Future movies, we think of the DeLorean time machine.
When we think of the Ghostbusters movie, Ecto 1 pops into mind or when we watch any of the Batman Movies, the batmobile is one of the thing we look out for.
These are just some of the most iconic vehicles from the movies and TV series.

In my collection, I have 1:18 scale of the Batmobile from the movie Batman, Ecto 1 from Ghostbusters, The Tumbler from Batman Begins and The Delorean from Back to the Future 2. I just love the details of these vehicles but they are expensive and do take up space on the display shelves.
Recently, I have been picking up Hot Wheels 1:64 scale movies vehicles. These little bundles of movie goodness may be small and lack the details of their bigger scale cousins but they are value for money and still look good on display.

Batmobile from Batman Forever

Not the most attractive Batmobile from the batman movies as I think it is too over the top.
Replacing the previous model Batmobile that he had used in his battles against The Joker and The Penguin, Batman takes this model Batmobile out to confront Two-Face and The Riddler.

The Delorean from Back to the Future

The Back to the Future movies were all blockbusters, and were all based around one thing - a De Lorean-turned-time machine.
According to Doc Brown 'The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?'
This iconic time machine must be one of the most famous movie cars. It even have 2 more different version for the next 2 Back to the Future movies.

The Mystery Machine from Scooby-Doo

I grew up watching Scooby-Doo cartoons every Saturday morning and the Mystery Machine was so cool to me. The design and colours used were so cool.
Yes the movie sucked but the cartoon was cool.
The Mystery Machine was a 1963 Ford Econoline Custom Van

Batmobile from 1960s Batman TV show

Already famous as a star of the Batman TV show, the 1960s Batmobile made the jump to the big screen in 1966. This is probably the most iconic George Barris design, and it's based on the Lincoln Futura concept car.

Ecto 1A from Ghostbusters 2

A pimp up of the Ecto 1. The Ecto 1A still looks mighty cool.
One of the coolest and weirdest looking ride!

There is so much more iconic cars from the movies like Starsky's Gran Torino, Garth's Mirth Mobile from Wayne's World or The Pussy Wagon from Kill Bill Vol 1.
I do hope I can pick up some of these cars and at this scale my wallet will still be intact!

Great ensemble Adrian! Where's KITT btw? =)

Previously it was so darn hard to find these at retail here in Malaysia. Now they're finally arriving on retail shelves by the truckload. I think we have an abundance of KITT now (ie HW Retro packaging)...but Ecto-1 is still pretty elusive to some.

Not an easy find for all. I only manage to locate Delorean. ECTO-1 is a mystery to the stores. Well, good collection. Thanks for sharing.

@Jcee - Hard to find everywhere!
@chrismandesign - u know your stuff. The Ecto 1A is from Johnny Lightning. I forgot and thought it was hot wheels when I did the review.
@rebel - I see on your blog you got the Ecto 1. I can't find KITT anywhere. Did you know I had Ecto 1 in my head but I choose to not buy it. 5 mins later I regretted and it was gone forever!
@jimho - Yup
